Due to the phone calls generated by NRA members this week, Sheriff Bill Young has contacted the NRA in having his name removed from the list of law enforcement officials whose names appeared on a Brady Campaign letter opposing H.R. 800, the federal legislation to end reckless lawsuits against the gun industry.
Anti-gun organizations such as the Brady Campaign to Prevent Handgun Violence and the Million Mom March posted the opposition letter on their websites as a way to garner key support for their efforts. However, from information gathered by the NRA, it appears the Brady Campaign gave sheriffs a briefing on their federal agenda and without their knowledge, several names were added to the list of national and state law enforcement officials opposing H.R. 800.
Please call and thank Sheriff Bill Young for his quick action! He can be reached by contacting the Clark County Sheriff’s office at (702) 229-3231.
