Wednesday, December 23, 2009

Please Contact the Town Board Today!

The Town of Rhinebeck Town Board has rescheduled a vote on a comprehensive zoning plan that includes provisions which potentially impact local shooting ranges.  The vote has been rescheduled for Tuesday, December 29 at 6:30 p.m.

If passed, strict limitations on the amount of noise emanating from ranges would be put in place.  Ranges would not be permitted within 900 feet of a property boundary, public trail or park, public or private road, public right-of-way, or publicly maintained road.  Finally, hours of operation would be limited to 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with the opening time pushed back to 12:00 p.m. on Sundays and state and federal holidays.

It is imperative that you attend the Tuesday, December 29 vote and show your support for the Second Amendment and if possible, speak in opposition to the proposal.  The vote will be held at the Rhinebeck Town Hall located at 80 E. Market St. (next to the firehouse) in Rhinebeck.

Also, please contact the members of the Town Board TODAY and respectfully urge them to oppose this measure.  Contact information can be found below.
