A pair of young criminals escaped from the Indiana Boys
School and went on a spree of car theft and vandalism that was
halted when used-car dealer Bill Doss shot one of them as they broke
into his Evansville building. Police said Doss was within his
rights to open fire, since the pair was in the process of committing
