Two pro-gun bills have successfully passed the Indiana General Assembly. Senate Bill 176 and House Bill 1052 both passed the legislature last week and have now been transmitted to the Governor’s desk, where they are expected to be signed into law.
House Bill 1052 ensures that antique firearms, including muzzleloading handguns, are treated consistently with other muzzleloading firearms by removing the background check requirement that applied to certain black powder handguns.
Senate Bill 176 strengthens protections for shooting ranges by prohibiting counties, cities, and towns from adopting zoning, land-use, or permitting requirements that are more restrictive than state law.
