Nevada: Clark County Commission to Consider Two Serious Agenda Items Tomorrow, Tuesday December 7!

The Parks and Recreation Department has placed several items on the County Commission’s 9:00 a.m. meeting agenda for December 7, 2010 relating to the future operation of the Clark County Shooting Park. 

Consent Agenda item 14 will raise public fees for individuals while reducing those for special interest groups and include pre-payment of fees for special events, an action not supported by the Shooting Park's Citizen's Advisory Committee.

Action Agenda item 74 would undermine the work of the Clark County Shooting Park Citizen's Advisory Committee by adding "ad hoc" members, creating the potential for individuals who do not support the mission of the Shooting Park as advisory members.   As you know, the Clark County Shooting Park Citizen’s Advisory Committee makes recommendations directly to the Clark County Board of County Commissioners - the original intent of the committee being to provide the County Commission with direct citizen input independent of the park department and provide long term protection of the range.

If you are concerned about the future of the Clark County Shooting Park being operated and maintained as a public shooting range, please contact you county commissioners and attend this meeting on December 7, 2010.   Let your opinions be heard.
