New Mexico: With One Week Left In Session, Your Help is Needed to Push Restaurant Carry Across the Goal Line!

On Saturday, March 14, the New Mexico House of Representatives passed House Bill 105, by a strong 49-13 vote.  This NRA-backed restaurant carry bill, sponsored by State Representative John Heaton (D-55), now crosses over to the Senate side and has been referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.  You may remember that the Senate bill version of restaurant carry, Senate Bill 608, sponsored by State Senate George Munoz (D-5), only passed out of this committee by one vote. 

Please contact the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee TODAY and respectfully urge them to pass HB 105.  Contact information for committee members can be found here.  Also, please thank the following committee members for supporting restaurant carry on the Senate floor, and urge them to support HB 105 in Senate Judiciary: Harden, Rue, Ryan, Payne, Martinez and Eichenberg.

Meanwhile, SB 608 -- as we reported earlier in the week -- passed the Senate on a 26-15 vote.  The bill has crossed over to the House side and been referred to the House Business & Industry Committee.  This committee previously approved HB 105, the House version of restaurant carry, unanimously. Please contact the House Business & Industry Committee and thank the committee members for supporting restaurant carry before and respectfully urge them to support SB 608.  Contact information for committee members can be found here.
