Florida "No-Net-Loss" Bill Passes Out of Committee Unanimously!

Friday, February 10, 2006

HB 265, the "Florida No-Net-Loss" bill sponsored by Representative Don Brown (R-5), passed out of the "House Water & Natural Resources Committee" on February 8, unanimously.

Simply put, "No-Net-Loss" requires that states maintain at least the level of available public hunting land that currently exists. It requires that additional lands be opened to hunting if land that is currently open to hunting is closed. The end result is assurance to hunters that the opportunities they now have will not diminish.
