The 2026 Florida Legislature adjourned Sine Die on Friday, March 13, 2026, marking the end of the state’s 60-day regular legislative session.
During the session, lawmakers considered several measures impacting the rights of Florida gun owners.
Senate Bill 52, which passed the Legislature on March 11, allows individuals providing armed security at places of worship to be exempt from obtaining a professional security license. The bill now heads to the Governor’s desk for his consideration.
Several other pro-Second Amendment measures were considered this session, but ultimately failed to receive final passage, including House Bill 133, removing the age restriction for young adults to purchase firearms, and House Bill 1551/ Senate Bill 1748, providing product liability protections for firearm industry members.
