The Florida special session is currently under way, and the firearms sales tax holiday has been reintroduced for this fiscal year under HB 7031-E, which includes holiday sales tax exemptions for ammunition, firearms, and firearm accessories.
HB 7031-E passed the House with suppressors included in the firearm accessories package, but the Senate passed the bill with suppressors removed. Since both chambers could not agree, the bill was moved to the Appropriations Conference Committee/Budget for both chambers to discuss.
Now, the conference has considered and released their amended agreement that includes suppressors as firearm accessories and the sales tax exemption will be from September 1st, 2026, to December 31st, 2026.
Please contact your legislators and encourage them to SUPPORT HB 7031-E and to INCLUDE suppressors in the sales tax holiday by using the TAKE ACTION button below.
This Friday, May 29, is the last day of special session and this bill is expected to be considered before the legislature adjourns.
NRA-ILA will continue to monitor this legislation and keep you informed of further developments affecting your Second Amendment rights in Florida.
