When a loud crash at 1:30 a.m. awoke a Las Vegas, Nev., homeowner, the first things he did were to retrieve his handgun, and tell his wife to dial 911. When he went into the hall, he was violently attacked, and a struggle ensued. The homeowner fired his handgun, killing the intruder.
