Victory Can Be Ours
If there is one thing that is true about elections in our country, it is that things can change very rapidly.  Nothing demonstrates this reality more than the campaign for president.  In the last 90 days, candidate momentum has changed at least three times.  But since Labor Day, there is no doubt that Donald Trump has gained momentum, with polling in almost every battleground state and nationally showing that he has closed the gap with Hillary Clinton.

Legislation Introduced to Protect American Gunsmiths From Reckless State Department “Guidance”
On Wednesday, House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) and Sen. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) introduced the Export Control Reform Act of 2016. The bill was prompted by the State Department’s recent move to redefine thousands of ordinary gunsmiths as “firearm manufacturers” subject to its oversight and liable for annual fees of $2,250, as well as mandatory recordkeeping and other bureaucratic red tape. Left unchecked, the State Department’s move would likely force untold numbers of small businesses to cease operation.

Tennessee Gun Control Group Spreads Bad Data to Push Anti-gun Agenda
In mid-September, Tennessee gun control group Safe Tennessee Project trumpeted a disturbing new statistic gleaned from the Centers for Disease Control’s Web-based Injury Statistics Query and Reporting System (WISQARS) in order to bolster their anti-gun agenda. The group contended that in 2014, 105 Tennesseans were killed in unintentional shootings, a more than five-fold increase from 2013. As expected, the press dutifully parroted the group’s claims. However, the incredible statistic touted by Safe Tennessee Project turned out to be just that, not credible. Following a review of their data, the Tennessee Department of Health, who provided the unintentional shooting data to the CDC, determined that the 105 figure was inaccurate and that the correct number of unintentional shooting deaths in Tennessee in 2014 was five.

Reports: N.J. School Officials Suspend Student Over Pro-Gun Presentation
The general stifling of academic freedom reared its ugly head again this week, as reports from NJ.com and News12 New Jersey detailed the story of a New Jersey high schooler who was suspended for his participation in a gun-related school assignment. According to the reports, Frank Harvey, a junior at Manville High School in Manville, N.J. was removed from school after creating a video that advocated against gun control. According to an account Harvey gave News 12, last year Harvey’s teacher for his College and Career Readiness class tasked him with creating an anti-gun-control video. Harvey’s video, supplied to NJ.com, correctly identified one of the chief problems with gun control; that criminals by definition do not obey the law, and therefore firearms restrictions merely encumber the law-abiding. The video also includes a story of an armed citizen defending his family from home invaders and two political cartoons making light of “gun free” zones. According to Harvey, he completed the assignment without incident and received an “A.”

Ginny Simone Reporting | "Bloomberg: Don't NYC My Maine Gun Rights"

Billionaire Michael Bloomberg continues his attempt to bring New York-style gun control to every town, America. This time, the wealthy elitist's sights are set on Maine, where he’s opened his war chest and poured out millions toward a ballot initiative that would result in virtually every firearm transfer being subjected to federal record-keeping and a background check. Question 3 will do nothing to stop criminals or reduce crime, but will only serve to create a massive regulatory scheme that will disproportionately impact law-abiding gun owners. In this report, Ginny Simone talks to Mainers who are standing up for freedom and determined to defeat Bloomberg.
