House and Senate leadership have appointed members to the Committee of Conference for Senate Bill 3064, which includes, among other things, a lifting of the ban on Sunday hunting and expansions for archery hunting. Please take a moment to click the TAKE ACTION button below to contact committee members and ask them to support the pro-hunting reforms in S. 3064!
S. 3064, an environmental and conservation bond bill, was amended to include the following provisions:
- A repeal of the ban on Sunday hunting in Massachusetts
- An expansion of archery hunting laws to permit crossbows for all hunters
- A reduction in archery setbacks that would significantly increase land access, particularly in eastern Massachusetts
While the regular session of the legislature in Massachusetts ends on July 31st, under current rules, the committee report on this bill could be postponed until after the election. There is, however, a high likelihood that a committee report and final vote on this bill will take place before July 31st.
