Following the ATF's recent decision regarding the enforcement of NFA transfer guidelines, Attorney General Lynn Fitch has issued a statement that filing an ATF Form 4 for suppressor transfers is no longer mandatory in Mississippi.
Basing the decision off of existing law, A.G. Fitch has stated that Mississippians may still voluntarily file ATF Form 4's for transfer, but there is no requirement to do so. Additionally, A.G. Fitch has encouraged the legislature to pursue "clarifying language in Mississippi law to eliminate the reference to federal law during the 2027 Legislative Session," as well as legalizing lawful concealed carry of firearms with suppressors.
NRA thanks Attorney General Fitch for her commitment to defending the Second Amendment rights of Mississippians.
