Louisiana: Mandatory Storage Bill Deferred in Committee

Senate Bill 344 was heard today in the Senate Judiciary C Committee but was deferred to next week following the adoption of late amendments. Please use the Take Action button below to contact members of the Senate Judiciary C Committee and urge them to OPPOSE SB 344.

SB 344 is a “one-size-fits-all” mandatory firearm storage bill that would create the crime of “unsecured storage” of a firearm. The measure would require firearms to be stored in a locked container or secured with a tamper-resistant trigger lock whenever they are not under the owner’s direct control.
