Louisiana: Legislative Session Convenes Today

The 2026 Regular Legislative Session convened today, March 9, 2026, and is scheduled to adjourn no later than 6:00 PM on Monday, June 1, 2026.

During the coming months, lawmakers will consider legislation impacting the Second Amendment and hunting heritage in Louisiana. NRA-ILA will be actively engaged throughout the session to promote and protect your right to keep and bear arms.

Your NRA remains committed to defending the rights of law-abiding gun owners. Our members continue to be one of the most powerful grassroots forces in American politics, and together we will work to protect the Second Amendment for present and future generations.
