Missouri: Committee Vote on Firearms Preemption Bill this Thursday

On Thursday, May 1st, the House General laws Committee will hold a vote on House Bill 726, strengthening firearms preemption laws. Please contact members of the committee by using the TAKE ACTION button below and urge them to SUPPORT HB 726!

House Bill 726, the House equivalent of Senate Bill 74, repeals the exception for localities to regulate open carry, and creates fines for localities that violate statewide preemption laws. Attorney General Andrew Bailey has taken action against localities violating statewide preemption previously, and this bill ensures that those who violate statewide preemption will face strict consequences.
