Massachusetts: Shooting Ranges to Reopen

Today, Gov. Baker signed COVID-19 Order No. 33 easing restrictions that were put into place to address the COVID-19 crisis. The new guidance allows shooting ranges to open today, May 18^th. Shooting ranges will be required to follow the safety protocols outlined in the Governor’s Order.

Gov. Baker’s original COVID-19 Order No. 21 closed shooting ranges and gun shops from March 31^st to May 4^th. That order was then amended to extend the restriction through May 18^th. On May 7^th, however, a federal judge ordered the Baker Administration to allow gun shops to re-open on Saturday, May 9^th, but the judge did not address shooting ranges.
