Colorado: Historic Senate Recall Elections Set for September 10

Friday, July 19, 2013

Yesterday, a Denver District Court Judge certified that the language in the recall petitions for state Senators John Morse (D-11) and Angela Giron (D-3) is valid, putting in place the final piece of the recall election puzzle.  This ruling forced Governor John Hickenlooper (D) to set the first recall election date for state legislators in the Centennial State’s history.  These recall elections are now set for Tuesday, September 10, 2013.

This past legislative session, Senators Morse and Giron were two of the key state lawmakers responsible for passing an extreme package of anti-gun legislation aimed at disarming, disenfranchising and punishing responsible gun owners and sportsmen across Colorado.  Because of their misguided actions, law-abiding gun owners in Colorado must pay a “gun tax” for a background check when purchasing a firearm, may no longer possess magazines with a capacity greater than fifteen rounds and must obtain a background investigation for some private firearm transfers.

The eyes of the nation are watching to see the outcome of this recall election.  This is your opportunity to send a message to the anti-gun politicians in Colorado and across the country that your Second Amendment rights are not up for sale to Michael Bloomberg and you will not be duped by the deceitful tactics of his national gun ban group, “Mayors Against Illegal Guns.”  If you live in the Colorado Springs or Pueblo area, this is your opportunity to stand up for your Right to Keep and Bear Arms.  Please stay tuned to www.nraila.org and your e-mail inbox for further updates, as your NRA-ILA will be heavily involved in both recall elections.
