Washington: Private transfer ban stalls in House

Supporters of a proposal to expand background checks to private gun sales struggled Monday to secure a final batch of votes that would ensure the bill's passage.
Supporters had hoped to consider the measure Monday afternoon but just a handful of votes short, they were forced to delay deliberations until at least Tuesday.
