The Washington legislature adjourned sine die from the 2026 legislative session on March 12. Since that time Governor Bob Ferguson has continued his quest to undermine the Second Amendment in Washington state. On March 18, the Governor signed HB 2521, removing the fee cap on background checks and most recently on March 24, he signed HB 2320, placing severe restrictions on 3D printers.
House Bill 2521 removes the cap on how much Washington State Patrol can charge for firearm background checks and expanding the scope of what the collected fees can be used for. This effectively hands a blank check to government bureaucrats to charge whatever they deem necessary to conduct background checks, and opens the door for the government to make the process to legally obtain a firearm so expensive that no one will be able to afford the right to keep and bear arms.
House Bill 2320 prohibits the private use of 3-D printers and milling machines for manufacturing firearms and firearms parts that are already illegal or restricted under state law. Additionally, this legislation prohibits the possession of digital instruction files and/or code related to firearm components by private individuals, raising First, Second and Fifth Amendment violation implications.

Thanks to your efforts, 10 anti-gun bills were defeated this session, including; limiting purchases to 1 gun per month, mandatory storage requirements, expansion of gun free zones, limitations on imitation firearms, insurance requirements, and more.
