The township is holding off on a proposed change to its firearms rules after residents continued to raise objections. Trustees are looking at an ordinance that would ban hunting within 450 feet of any school property, church or business and would require residents to seek written consent of the property owners if they chose to hunt on premises other than their own. If passed, there also would be stricter limits on target practice, which would require permission from the township police chief.
