Mirabile dictu, last Wednesday Tory MP and former police officer Candice Hoeppner's private member's bill to abolish Canada's long gun registry passed second reading in the House of Commons by a vote of 164 to 137, with 12 NDPers, eight Liberals, and one independent supporting the motion.
