The Alabama State Senate worked hard last week to pass two very important pro-gun bills before adjournment sine die on Friday, May 15.
House Bill 225 passed out of the Senate by a vote of 30 to 0. HB 225, sponsored by State Representative Marc Keahey (D-65), would protect our Second Amendment rights by prohibiting any government agency from confiscating firearms or regulating the lawful sale, possession, transfer, transport or carry of firearms during a state of emergency.
House Bill 432 passed out of the Senate by a vote of 25 to 0. Sponsored by State Representative Jack Page (D-29), HB 432 would make all records pertaining to pistol permits confidential, only to be used for law enforcement purposes. Any public disclosure of this information would be a Class A misdemeanor.
HB 225 and HB 432 both move on to the Governor’s desk for his consideration.
Please contact Governor Riley (R) TODAY and respectfully urge him to sign HB 225 and HB 432 into law. You can reach Governor Riley by calling (334) 242- 7100 or via email by clicking here.
