Today, the Tennessee House approved the General Assembly Conference Committee report of House Bill 962 by a 66-23 vote. This report removed all restricting amendments.
HB962, sponsored by State Representative Curry Todd (R-95), would enable a person who has a valid Right-to-Carry permit to carry a firearm into restaurants where alcohol may be served, as long as the permit holder is not consuming alcohol or is not otherwise prohibited by posting provisions.
The Senate is expected vote on HB962, as reported by the General Assembly Conference Committee, as early as Monday, May 11.
We would like to thank all of the NRA members who took the time to call their State Representatives in support of this important pro-gun measure. We would also like to thank the sponsors and co-sponsors for their continued support of this important Right-to-Carry reform bill.
