Senate Joint Resolution 3 passed out of the Joint State Agencies & Government Affairs Committee today. SJR3 will soon be taken up on the floor of both the House and the Senate.
NRA has been working with State Senator Steve Faris (D-27) for the last six years to pass this critical legislation. This legislation seeks to amend the Arkansas State Constitution to establish that hunting and fishing are recognized rights that will be protected for future generations. SJR 3, if passed, would allow the voters of Arkansas to consider this amendment, which seeks to ensure that the state’s strong hunting and fishing heritage is preserved for future generations. The language in SJR 3 is stronger than any of the similar legislation passed in other states.
