Please Contact Your State Senator and the Senate Majority Leader Today! It is likely that State Senator Martin Golden (R-22) of Brooklyn will soon introduce a bill that would require all new handguns sold in New York to be equipped with so-called “microstamping” technology.
Microstamping is an unproven technology that would require identifying marks to be etched into the firing pin and breech face of a firearm in such a manner that these marks are transferred to a shell casing upon firing. The technology can easily be defeated with common household tools, has no public safety value, and will add substantially to the cost of the firearm.
Please contact your State Senator today by phone through the Senate switchboard at (518) 455-2800, as well as the Senate Majority Leader, Joseph Bruno (R-43), at (518) 455-3191, and respectfully urge them to oppose this onerous proposal. To find your State Senator, please click here.
