Thanks to the efforts of pro-Second Amendment citizens, the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners has soundly rejected the proposed ordinance that sought to restrict the discharge of firearms. As we reported last week, this proposal would have prohibited the discharge of firearms within 500 feet of a dwelling or other building or structure that is "designed to be occupied by human beings."
NRA members and other pro-gun citizens responded to the call to action to oppose this measure by contacting the Commissioners, and by attending the meeting of the Board this past Monday to voice their concerns. The commission voted 4-1 to reject the ordinance.
If you have not done so already, please make an effort to contact Commissioners to thank them for rejecting this ordinance. Contact information can be found by clicking here.
