This week, Senate Bill 2411, introduced by State Senator Eric Powell (D-4), was reported out of the Senate Judiciary B Committee. SB2411 is NRA-backed legislation that establishes an "apply by mail" option for concealed carry permit applicants and reduces the renewal permit fee for senior citizens.
Also this week, Senate Bill 2466, an NRA-backed range protection bill sponsored by State Senator Walter Michel (R-25), was heard by both the Senate Municipalities and the County Affairs Committee. If passed, shooting ranges would be allowed to make repairs or modifications to the existing building, expand range membership, and allow for participation opportunities in the community, etc., without the local government placing certain restrictions upon them.
