Attention Alabama sportsmen! The Fish and Wildlife Service has issued a Comprehensive Conservation Plan that will guide management of the Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge Complex for the next 15 years.
The Complex is comprised of 7 refuges spreading across 12,500 square miles of northern Alabama. The draft Plan is of particular of interest to sportsmen because it intends to increase hunting and fishing opportunities. Alabama sportsmen should be sure to attend the proposed public meeting and let their voices be heard! The comment period closes May 7, and the plan can be reviewed at http://southeast.fws.gov/planning/ .
