Please Contact Your State Senator Today!
House Bill 1149, authored by State Representative Donald Dietrich (R-42), is headed to the Senate. The House of Representatives passed the bill 80-9 with the age minimum on deer hunting set at 12. The Senate Natural Resources Committee amended the bill to raise the minimum age to 13. Please contact your State Senator and urge him or her to support the pre-amended version to lower the age to 12.
The 30 states with the least restrictive hunting ages have better hunter retention rates and better safety records than the 20 states that have restrictive age minimums on hunters.
Please contact your State Senator at 1-888-NDLEGIS (635-3447) or 701-328-3373 (local) and respectfully urge them to support HB1149.
