Fairfax, VA – The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) announces its endorsement of United States Senator Craig Thomas for re-election on November 7.
NRA-PVF Chairman, Chris W. Cox, stated, “Our members and Wyoming hunters and sportsmen know that Senator Thomas values their gun rights and hunting traditions, and they know he will protect them in his role as U.S. Senator. He has a strong pro-Second Amendment record, and we support his bid for re-election.”
Senator Thomas voted for the Vitter Amendment to H.R. 5441, the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, which prohibits federal officials from confiscating lawfully possessed firearms during an emergency or major disaster, as occurred in New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
In addition, Senator Thomas co-sponsored and voted for S. 397 -- the “Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act” -- legislation to stop frivolous lawsuits against our domestic gun manufacturers and retailers, to preserve the American gun industry and protect domestic manufacturing jobs.
Based on Senator Thomas’s twelve-year, pro-Second Amendment record in the U. S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives and the Wyoming legislature, he has received an “A” rating by NRA-PVF this election.
Cox concluded, “We urge all NRA members and gun owners in Wyoming to go to the voting booths this November 7th and vote to re-elect Senator Craig Thomas.”
