On Thursday, March 30, Governor Joe Manchin III (D) signed HB 3119, the NRA-supported “No-Net-Loss of Hunting Lands” legislation. HB 3119, sponsored by Speaker Robert Kiss (D-27) requires the opening of compensatory hunting land if an area is closed to hunting and addresses one of the greatest challenges facing sportsmen today -- adequate access to public hunting lands.
This legislation received overwhelming support in both the
House with a vote of 96 to 0 and the Senate with a vote of 34 to 0.
