On Saturday, February 12 the Alabama Governor’s Conservation Advisory Board will be holding a public hearing. The hearing will be held at 9:00 AM in the State Capital Auditorium, in Montgomery. NRA members with an interest in wildlife management should attend to voice their opinions to the board. In order to speak members need to sign up between 8:30 and 9:00 AM.
Among the issues to be discussed is the issue of supplemental feeding of deer, specifically whether or not hunting near feed piles violates the spirit of fair chase. As NRA has stated in the past, we have great respect for Alabama’s hunting heritage and traditions, and we will continue to work to see that heritage grow and flourish in the twenty-first century. For that reason we continue to support current Alabama law regarding the supplemental feeding of deer.
Once again, NRA members should attend the meeting on February 12 to voice their opinions on wildlife management issues.
