Michigan sportsmen are confused by the cancellation of the Senate Committee hearing on House Bill 5029, which will establish a dove hunting season in Michigan. Evidently, Senate Chair Shirley Johnson, the leading opponent of the bill, cancelled the committee hearing without explanation. As of now, the hearing has not been rescheduled. Sportsmen are encouraged to call their senator and respectfully urge them to support HB 5029 without amendment. You can find contact information for your Senator by using the "Write Your Representatives" feature in the "Action Center" to the right.
