Raising the shield of legislative privilege, the six principal authors of the new campaign finance, including Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Russ Feingold (D-Wis.), law are resisting a request to search their Congressional offices for documents sought by a group challenging the law`s increased limits on the amount donors may give to campaigns.
