Lester Boissey was reporting a burglary when an intruder rushed the 82-year-old Spokane, Wash., homeowner. He hit the criminal in the chest with a bullet from his .25 cal. pistol, putting him and his accomplice to flight. Arriving police found one housebreaker mortally wounded and caught the second a few blocks away. Police said both had extensive criminal records, including bank robbery and drug offenses.
