When a man barged into Deborah Hoffman's New River, Ariz., home, threatening to rape her and her 19-month-old daughter, the young mother put up a fight and exchanged punches with the assailant for several minutes. Hoffman then grabbed a .22 cal. rifle and fired one shot. The man, who police believe was wounded, fled immediately.
