Edgar Macias, 18, and his mother were working in their
family grocery store in Miami, Fla., when three armed robbers
entered, demanding cash. Macias quickly grabbed a pistol and shot
one robber, while his mother opened up on the other criminals. Two
men, one wounded, were later captured and held in connection with
the attempted robbery.
Established in 1975, the Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) is the "lobbying" arm of the National Rifle Association of America.
