On Friday, April 17th, the Nebraska Legislature adjourned Sine Die, officially concluding the 2026 Legislative Session. During this session, lawmakers considered several measures impacting the rights of law-abiding gun owners, including LB 1237.
LB 1237 allows concealed carry permit holders to carry concealed firearms inside the Nebraska State Capitol. This important change ends a concealed-carry firearm ban that has been in place since 2007 and represents a significant victory for the rights of law-abiding Nebraskans. LB 1237 went into law and will take effect on January 1, 2027.
The NRA thanks all legislators and grassroots advocates who stood firm in defense of the Second Amendment throughout the 2026 session.
