The Hawaii State Senate is set to consider two separate anti-gun proposals in different committees over the coming days. On Wednesday, February 18th at 3:15 p.m., the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Environment will hear Senate Bill 2576, a troubling expansion of the prohibited persons list. Additionally, Senate Bill 2517 will be heard on Tuesday, February 24th at 10:00 a.m. in the Senate Committee on Judiciary.

Senate Bill 2576 would expand Hawaii’s prohibited persons list by adding a non-violent offense, resulting in the loss of Second Amendment rights for individuals who pose no threat to public safety.
Senate Bill 2517 would expand Hawaii’s already unconstitutional red flag law and raise serious due process concerns by allowing automatic penalties without full evidentiary hearings for "Gun Violence Protection Orders."
Please note that the Senate Committee on Judiciary will not be accepting oral testimony on February 24th, making it especially important that you submit written testimony through the Hawaii Legislative website.
