California: Senate Public Safety Committee to Hear Age Restriction Bill on Tuesday, June 12

Contact the Members of the Public Safety Committee TODAY!

On Tuesday, June 12, at 8:30 am, the Senate Public Safety Committee is scheduled to hear Assembly Bill 3 in room 3191 at the State Capitol. AB 3 sponsored by Assembly Member Rob Bonta (D-18) would raise the age limit to purchase both firearms and ammunition to 21 years old, effectively denying 18 to 20 year old adults their constitutional right to self-protection. Passing a law that makes it illegal for a 20 year-old to purchase a shotgun for hunting or an adult single mother from purchasing the most effective self-defense rifle on the market punishes law-abiding citizens for the evil acts of criminals.   The legislature should be focusing on the criminal misuse of firearms not on arbitrary bans that only impact law-abiding citizens.

Please use our TAKE ACTION BUTTON below to email the committee members and respectfully urge them to OPPOSE AB 3 AND be sure to call the following committee members who need to hear from you!

Senator Nancy Skinner (D-9) - Chair  (916) 651-4009

Senator Scott Wiener (D-11)              (916) 651-4011

Hannah-Beth Jackson (D-19)             (916) 651-4019

Holly Mitchell (D-30)                        (916) 651-4030

Steven Bradford (D-35)                     (916) 651-4035
