California: Santa Clara Board of Supervisors to Consider Gun Show Ban

California: Santa Clara Board of Supervisors to Consider Gun Show Ban

Today, Tuesday, June 5, 2018, the County of Santa Clara will hold a Board of Supervisors Meeting to consider Item #136, an attempt to ban gun shows from the County Fairgrounds property. NRA and CRPA attorneys have already submitted a letter to the Board of Supervisors informing them of the possible constitutional violations of these types of attempts to limit gun shows on county property and the strict regulations that are enforced for all gun shows in the state.

This isn’t the first time anti-gun proponents have sought to ban gun shows through local action.  In 2016, a handful of anti-gun San Diego residents petitioned the Del Mar Fairgrounds Board of Directors to discontinue the use of the Fairgrounds by the well-known and well-established Crossroads of the West gun show. Thanks in part to NRA and CRPA efforts and the efforts of our members, the Del Mar Fairgrounds Board of Directors did not pursue any further unnecessary restrictions at that time. We need your help in Santa Clara!

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM in Board Chambers, located at 70 West Hedding Street, San Jose, CA 95110. We encourage all members to attend. If you are unable to attend, you can submit written comments using the below information or clicking on our TAKE ACTION BUTTON below:
