Libraries in your community, which are members of the Missouri Library Association, are seeking to restrict your ability to defend yourself and reverse the hard-won progress achieved with the passage of Senate Bill 656 back in 2016.
During their annual conference, the Missouri Library Association voted to include in its legislative agenda a desire to allow libraries to opt out of allowing law-abiding citizens to defend themselves while on their properties. Such “gun-free zones” do nothing to prevent criminals from carrying firearms illegally while leaving law-abiding citizens defenseless when they cross an arbitrary threshold into certain areas.
Please contact your state legislators to oppose any such measure and to ensure that your right to self-defense is protected across the state. Click here to find your state legislators.
