California: Pro-Hunting Bill to be heard on Wednesday, May 3

On Wednesday, May 3, the Assembly Appropriations Committee is scheduled to hear Assembly Bill 521, sponsored by Assembly Member Jim Frazier (D-11). AB 521 would reduce California’s high-priced resident elk permit from $450 to $67, the average cost of resident elk tags issued in Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming.  Please use our TAKE ACTION button below to contact the members of the Assembly Appropriations Committee and urge them to SUPPORT AB 521.

AB 424 has still not been considered by the Assembly and remains eligible for a vote at any time.  AB 424 sponsored by Kevin McCarty (D-7), would remove the authority of a school district superintendent, his or her designee, or equivalent school authority to provide written permission for a person to possess a firearm within a school zone.  Please continue to contact your Assembly Member by using the TAKE ACTION button below and urge him/her to OPPOSE AB 424.
