A mother was at home with her infant in Indianapolis, Ind. when she heard an intruder breaking into the house through a window in the baby’s room. The mother retrieved a firearm and then encountered the intruder, who fired a gun at her. The mother responded by firing at the criminal, striking him several times. The intruder was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The mother and child were not harmed during the incident.
The intruder’s choice of target was even more foolish than it would first appear, as a local media outlet pointed out that a sign above the home’s front door warns trespassers “WE DON’T DIAL 911” and features a revolver-shaped ornament. According to reports, at the time of the incident the intruder had zip ties and a walkie-talkie in his possession. (WXIN, Indianapolis, Ind. 03/24/16)
