South Carolina: House bill would make concealed guns a right

House members passed an amended bill Thursday that does away with language requiring a permit to carry a concealed weapon in South Carolina. The amendment was introduced by Rep. Mike Pitts, R-Laurens, who told The (Charleston) Post and Courier he pushed the proposal as an alternative to “open carry” bills that have failed in the General Assembly.
