Contact Members of the Public Safety and Security Committee TODAY and Urge Them to Reject this Misguided Legislation
Despite rumors of its cancellation, the Public Safety and Security Committee will proceed with its public hearing this Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Room 2C of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford. We need you to come to Hartford this Thursday and speak in opposition to extreme anti-gun legislation that, if passed and enacted, would impose further restrictions for all law-abiding firearms owners and sportsmen in Connecticut. A few of these drastic proposals include:
- Banning commonly owned firearms
- Implementing a gun rationing scheme
- Criminalizing the private transfer of a firearm
- Mandating gun registration
- Banning standard capacity magazines
Anti-gun legislators in Hartford are determined to act quickly and aggressively to submit law-abiding gun owners to egregious and burdensome schemes, while ignoring criminal's misuse of firearms. We need you to take action today before anti-gun extremists succeed in melting down your firearm freedoms.
This Thursday, please attend the public hearing in Hartford that begins at 10:00 a.m. in Room 2C of the Legislative Office Building to voice your opposition to legislation that would inhibit your Right to Keep and Bear Arms and infringe on your inherent right to self-defense. To ensure that your voice will be heard, please arrive early to ensure ample time to sign up to testify which begins at 8:00 a.m.
If unable to attend this public hearing, please call AND e-mail members of the Public Safety and Security Committee and respectfully express your opposition to this legislation, and hold them accountable by asking how they plan to vote on these measures.
