State Senator Don Balfour (R-9) intends to introduce a floor amendment to Senate Bill 350 which could come up for a vote on the Senate floor in the next few days. This amendment would allow transportation and storage of firearms in locked personal vehicles while on publicly-accessible parking lots.
Employees who carry a firearm for self-defense on their commute and those who go hunting or target shooting, either before or after work, should not be faced with the possibility of losing their jobs because of a workplace policy that deprives them of their Second Amendment rights. This critical amendment would allow employees to safely store firearms in their locked personal vehicle, guaranteeing their fundamental, constitutional rights and removing the fear of being fired.
Heavy opposition from the Georgia Chamber of Commerce is expected to continue, as they have already tried their strong arm tactics behind the scenes with elected officials at every level of state government. Do not let the Georgia Chamber be the reason you’re denied the right to self-defense to and from your place of work.
