A woman was asleep at home with her two children in Midwest City, Okla., when she awakened to a loud noise. After calling her husband, the woman retrieved a gun and went to investigate. She spotted two intruders inside the home and fired at them, striking and killing one and causing the other to flee. Police later captured the unharmed burglar.
The armed citizen’s neighbors explained to the local media that their neighborhood has deteriorated in recent years and showed support for the woman’s actions, with one stating, “You have to stand your ground… She absolutely did the right thing.”
