Pennsylvania: Franklin Township ordinance under review

Franklin Twp. is the latest community being asked to amend an ordinance banning the open carrying of weapons in municipal parks. Township resident Frank Latzer told supervisors at a meeting last month that their ordinance banning weapons in the Ponderosa and Century Lane parks is at odds with state firearms laws. Pennsylvania's law states that no county or municipality can regulate "the lawful ownership, possession, transfer or transportation of firearms or ammunition components."
